EcoManager (550 vehicles)
The aim of our customer in The Netherlands was to make consistent savings in fuel and operating costs across their bus fleet. To achieve this, they wanted to encourage all their drivers to perform to a standardised, high level of operation in compliance with recommended guidelines.
We designed a solution that allowed EcoManager to be integrated into the bus fleet’s existing IT infrastructure, which generated invaluable information regarding individual driver and route operation which was passed automatically to a central database.
Furthermore, the driver reports available through our web-hosted reporting system showed the customer exactly where and how savings were being made after the installation of EcoManager. In addition to this, fleet managers had detailed reports generated by EcoManager to allow them to assess and compare different drivers’ performance.
The information provided in the EcoManager reporting also showed how - with targeted training and guidance - low performing drivers could improve their skills to achieve the same high standards of efficiency and safety as those at the top of the performance ranking.

EcoManager (240 vehicles)
A major Spanish public transport operator running bus services from the outskirts of Madrid into the centre of the city had a particular problem. The operator wanted to cut fuel consumption and maintenance costs, whilst demonstrating that they were successfully lowering CO2 emissions across their entire fleet of vehicles.
21st Century Technology’s EcoManager was the obvious recommendation and offered the additional benefits of encouraging a smoother driving style, lower accident rates, less vehicle downtime, greater passenger safety and an improved customer journey experience.
The challenge we faced was in the varying age and type of vehicles in the customer’s fleet.
However, due to the way we designed the solution, it was possible to deploy a uniform EcoManager solution across the entire fleet regardless of the age or type of vehicle. Our solution used the same EcoManager driver’s aid and back office reporting throughout , so driver training and feedback was standardised ensuring consistency in the approach by our customer, saving them time and money.
